Poland Service Trip

Poland Service Trip

A few words about Polish Christian Ministries. PCM was established in 1954 by Paul Bajko, a Polish man who emigrated to the States after WWII and began sending resources and funds back to Poland to assist the churches there. Almost 70 years later, they are continuing the work by supplying pastors' salaries (for 50+ Polish nationals), providing funds for building projects and sending teams to serve alongside their Polish friends.

The Messiah team experience in Poland is primarily centered around teaching English in the local high schools. Each Messiah teaching pair teaches about 5 classes per day (usually two Messiah students are paired together). The Polish teachers are hoping we will provide creative opportunities for the Polish students to converse in English. They rarely have the chance to speak with native English speakers, so the more activities to facilitate conversation the better. It's more creating a setting for conversation than it is teaching a grammar lesson.
