Women of Influence Program Fund
The mission of Messiah University is to educate men and women toward maturity of intellect, character and Christian faith in preparation for lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in church and society. Today, the Messiah community--i.e., alumni, parents, and friends--has increasing numbers of women who are serving in leadership roles within their churches, local communities, and various professions. Many of our female students, too, are preparing for leadership roles and are seeking relationships with proven leaders. The need for female students to have engaged and confident mentors is significant and has the potential to have a profound impact on the development of their future leadership skills and growth. The Women of Influence Initiative connects women leaders with female students to participate in an informal mentoring program. We seek to provide the students with opportunities to network, learn, and grow personally.
Purpose of Fund:
The Women of Influence Program Fund will be used to support initiatives outside of the scope and ability of departmental budgets. This includes, but is not limited to, the following ideas, which will support the female students in the Women of Influence Program:
• Professional development items for students, such as padfolios, desk sets, and business card holders
• Guest speakers for events
• Etiquette dinners
• Off-campus trips and activities
• Misc. program needs that are not covered by the current program budget, such as linens & gifts for events, graduation gifts for mentees, etc.
